While killing time before I went to pick up the kids from school, i surfed the website of "How Rare Is Your Car"
As you know I own S63 AMG L, according to the logbook. There are 34 S63 listed and one S63 AMG L. So would presume that is me but in life never assume anything. More surfing, on Auto trader, I see that there are 28 S63 AMG's for sale. That means that including mine there are only 7 S63 on the road. Like hens teeth, spotting a S63 AMG on the road is a rarity. So own up who is with me driving these rare beast's all six of you.

Same with most real AMGs, you see them on the roads very rarely indeed. Maybe inside the M25 you see them more often, but out here, maybe a couple a year.

I was surprised to find they offered the S63 in both standard and long wheelbases.

I like the sound of that !!!!!!!
I looked at an advert for one of those a year or two back. Then I did some background reading from the motoring press about them. I think Autocar managed about 13mpg...

Thirsty I'm sure, but you don't buy a V8 AMG and worry about fuel economy!

My E300 has all sorts of AMG logo'ed stuff but I assume that's just kidding.
It's a diesel electric for crying out loud.
Although having different sized wheels front and back is a bit extreme for just a trim package.

As a reviewer noted “ it will pass anything on the road, except a filling station”.

Someone came in yesterday who owned an R63 AMG. Now that is rare.

Ultimate Q car. Boy you could annoy some marques with that, especially if you removed the badges. Last time I looked there were 6 left registered. Got to be the rarest production AMG in the UK.

'Not a vehicle to be found in the Green Peace office car park then?
Not in a million years. On the combined cycle the R63 will return 17.3mpg. Over a day of driving that combined stop-start town traffic, fast motorway work and relaxed A-road cruising, CAR Online achieved an average of 14mpg, which means filling the 17.6gallon tank every 250miles. And although Mercedes has yet to reveal CO2 figures, expect those four snarling exhaust pipes to each chuck out over a kilogramme of CO2 every mile.' CAR magazine, 2012.

According to the gentleman who owned it, the person who he bought it from on a country estate used it as his dog car....
