How much is my old W124 7-seater E200 estate worth?

I've owned my 1994 E200 7-seater estate since it was 10 months and 10K miles old. Now it's done 129K and it's been sat on my drive going nowhere for the last two years, so I think it's time for it to go.

The paintwork is looking a bit tired in places and there's the usual rust problems on the front wings behind the headlamps. About three years ago the rear sub-frame parted company with the chassis and I had it properly repaired so it's now very sound. There are a few other faults, like a worn driver's outer seat squab, the dash lights not working, the ABS light coming on and going off again, and the tailgate gas struts being very tired.

The engine and transmission worked fine when I took it out for a short run a few days ago.

I really don't know what it's worth so I'd be grateful for opinions .

Thanks

Easiest way is to look on eBay at completed listings to see what sells and for how much.
Also look at Autorader and see what they are being advertised for. For an (often) inflated view look at the classic car websites. Armed with all that decide on a price and try your luck!

You could also try the specialist dealers, e.g. Charles Ironside, Cheshire Classic Benz, Avantgarde.

I would think the large dealers wont even look at it .Its worth what you can get for it .As you, and others know ,,these cars are worth more in parts than a running project . If you did breaking the car ,then you will be looking at three times more for the Mercedes in parts alone .. But it looks a nice W124, and its to good to let it die a sad death . You would get members interested in it if you put it in the - for sales section .Good luck Geof ..

Thanks for the advice, I did try looking at ebay and a few other places before I did this post but there seemed to be such a wide variation in pricing, it was difficult to judge what was reasonable to ask.

Yeah it can be. Thats why I look at the completed listings - the ones that sell give you a better idea of what reasonable.

It's my feeling too that dealers wouldn't be interested, so I think putting it on the members 'for sales section' sounds the best advice, the only problem is what price to put it on for.

I'd hate to see it broken up too after the 20+ years of enjoyment of using it.

I had a 200T W124 sold it for £450 if this helps, sounds like in pretty much the same condition, though mine had 144,000mls

theres also a very active w124 enthusiasts facebook group and also one for estates you could advertise on there or garner interest or just link to your ad they are slowly becoming a cult car especially the estates or as they call them the "wagons"
