Hi all

I have two Hawk 3 ton hydraulic jacks, one a week old one a year old.

The year old one is very difficult to let down smoothly, you have the to turn the handle very hard then the car falls quickly.

The new one is very easy to turn and lets the car down smoothly.

Any ideas how I can rejuvenate the old one?

Maybe check the hydraulic oil level first ? And the condition of the oil ?

Think that it may be the “needle nosed” valve that you loosen, could either be scored, or have a slightly damaged seal/o ring......

Depends on the design.

May be worth unscrewing the valve all the way out and checking the tip ?

I removed the valve and loads of air came out, even when fully depresurised. I will change the oil as well, as it has been outside a few times and the fill plug has a hole in the middle so its quite possibly half full of water.

The O rings that come with 605/606 fuel filters I've found are a damn good match.
