Could any members please identify any or all of the electrical connections numbered in the attached picture?

The car is new to me and am trying to familiarise myself with what’s what.

Hi,
The top item in the pic is the engine ECU, the plug to the left on this is for the engine and to the right is to the rest of the car.
The unit below it "I think" is the Traction control ECU, is it fitted?.
Hope that is of some help.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
You can always lift the ECUs and check on the EPC, a little more work

Thanks Andy, no I don’t have traction control as there is no ASR switch on the dash, I have BAS (Brake assist System)

Which items are you referring to as the engine ECU, I have numbered each plug 0 to 21 for easy reference.

Connectors 0, 1 and 2 are on the ESP/ETS/ASR module - no.1 is the CAN wires.
Connectors 3 and 4 are engine ECU - you can again see the CAN wires in plug 4.
All the rest are on the K40 module, which is mainly involved with voltage supply and starter output. 11 is the starter relay, 12 is switched and permanent live supply, 6,7,8,9,10,13,14 and 21 are power outputs and inputs to eg switch the internal relays in the K40 (there will be 2x probably, in addition to the demountable starter relay).
Fuses are obviously there to protect the voltage outputs.

Good man Alex thanks very much, very comprehensive answer, sounds like you know what you are talking about. Useful to know what’s what, hopefully I wont need this info in the future.
