Hi,

For SL500 2003 79k miles, can we use the attached injector cleaner?

Any harm to the engine? Has anyone used this before?

Also im told for best results to only mix with half a tank of fuel rather than full? Is that so?

if you've been using quality branded petrol, then it will not be needed.

My 179,000 mile engine runs perfect on standard unleaded all it's life (never used supermarket fuel).

I never use additives.

Most car manufacturers do offer a 'specced' cleaner which has been approved by them, and is guaranteed not to affect the delicate chemical composition of the cats.

I have regularly used a cleaner (Millers) over the last few years. As Malc says, can't do any harm and with the mileage climbing on past 120k now,and the engine still running as (or better than) new, inc very little black smoke, I can only assume it's contributed.
Just not convinced it's going to help with poor starting - not a common dirty injector symptom afaik.
Just follow the instructions on the bottle for fuel/additive ratio.
