correct me if im wrong, but arent we talking about Exhaust Gas Temperature here? if so, id expect FAR higher temps than that! i had an old C250 Turbodiesel that, driven hard with a missing exhaust tailpipe, set fire to the rear bumper with the exhaust gas heat!
The EGT probe is installed before my turbo so technically it is more a TIT (Turbo inlet temperature) and therefor even higher than exhaust gas temperature.
You will see on the gauge the temp is 1450, not 145.
my bad. i missed the x10 on the dial! actually it looks like it could have its uses! possibly not so much on a road car, but for competition use, i can certainly see it being beneficial
