Hi all,

Just a quick question.

I am thinking of getting the above sub and amp installed professionally.

The installer told me I need to get this output converter, NOT for RCA conversation method. but for the reason below:
https://www.audiocontrol.com/car-audio/factory-system-upgrade/lc2i/

“it would work without it but the Mercedes amplifier restricts the bass bandwidth to protect the speakers when playing the system at high volume. In other words it would be bassy at low volume but the bass frequency would decrease when the volume increases. The Audio Control LC2i with Accubass is designed to compensate for that.”

The only reason I’m questioning it is because 3 other quotes have told me I don’t need to get it.

Has anybody else experienced this decrease of bass at high volumes?
Has anybody else installed a sub without this converter?

I have a standard command system.
No HK7 upgrade
It is a E class convertible
2014 facelift model.

Many thanks in advance
Ali

They are correct, it reduces bass output at higher volumes (approx 70%) to protect sub woofers, it can be heard if you listen for it.
