I have a 2007 C180K. Even with 135,000 miles it drives really well. It starts from cold first time. However if it stands for, say an hour or so, when I start it, the engine turns over several times but always still starts. Does anyone know of this problem and what should I do to fix it please? Many thanks
Keith

Possibly, but not necessarily, hardening of the O-rings on the fuel lines under the bonnet, letting in air.

This is common, and usually there are other clues - such as difficulty starting if the vehicle is parked facing uphill.

If it starts well from cold, it can't be fuel evaporation as it would have evaporated as it cooled down and then continued to cool until cold.

More likely a bit of choke is needed but it's not cooled enough to activate it or needs adjusting.
I'm not familiar with an auto choke system but fuel mix need to be right for the engine temperature.

Normally only on Diesels though.

Sounds to me as though your crankshaft position sensor is starting to fail.

Many thanks for the ideas. Just hope it's not the crankshaft sensor - sounds expensive!

No problem!

Sensor is cheap, and labour to replace should be unless its stuck etc.
