Well, I got all excited about this.

It was announced in 2017 as it turns out but I hadn't heard about it until just now.
I thought it was a new car that would be built to look like the classic but with electric power instead.
Awesome!
But apparently not.
Why would anyone do it to a real classic even if it is fully reversible?

My other half has been involved peripherally in this project.

I can see the point of it to a certain extent. With cities increasingly making it impossible for older cars to drive in or near them anyone living in those areas is seriously stuck for something vintage in appearance that can actually be driven.

Good point about still being able to drive a classic car, with many places in the world forcing cars out of zones or off the road altogether.
I just think it's a huge shame they didn't make a brand new car in that design, that would be awesome but I guess they would have to update the looks in some way to keep the true classic owners happy.

Retro is so cool these days, I think they would have buyers climbing over each other if they could have electric cars that had proper classic looks.
Having said that, Mercedes destroyed a replica gullwing 300SL, so I'm not too sure if manufacturers would want to do an official electric replica?

If he does own one it's not that one. That one was on loan from Jaguar Land Rover, was repainted a different colour after the wedding. I know it's exact whereabouts but am not at liberty to say.
JLR don't want it to become a souvenir Harry/Megan item.

I’ll just park this here....
But it's zero emission at point of use and that is all that's relevant, the fact that the electrickery was produced by coal (nothing wrong with that being in Yorkshire), gas, renewables (shudder) or diesel generator the buyer of said zero emission car doesn't have to worry because its "zero emission".

I'm a particular fan of shipping wood pellets from Baton Rouge to Drax (built where it is because it is because of the huge coal deposits). Lets just ignore the medium fuel oil bulk carrier and diesel train to get the wood pellets to Drax...

Now why can't I buy an electric charging mobile charging machine and go around charging EV cars that have run out of charge because they decided to venture 2 miles outside their city :coffee:
There could be a very lucrative business opportunity there!
