Just Bought a 1984 W123 230 Auto

Hi All

I have committed a cardinal sin and bought a 1984 W123 230 Auto off ebay without looking at it.

From the pic's I got it does not look to bad but it has been sorned for the past six years.

Can anyone give me advice on which workshop manual is is the best, also I require some door and window seals can anyone advise.

Hopefully I will have the MOT'ed and Tax in the next couple of weeks, and complete the rest of the work as a rolling restoration.

Good luck and welcome,, the Haines book is fine for 98% of the car.

seals are very expensive new, see how bad they are when you get the car

as above, haynes is a good manual, but there is no haynes W123 manual with your engine in (you have to choose between early petrol engines or diesel, the 102 engine is in the 190E manual though).

How are you getting on with your "new motor"?

I myself bought one last week, getting it serviced on wed, getting the brake fluid and possibly the ATF changed too.

The cars is running brillant, the fan belt went but this was due to Alternator bracket been damaged, changed it now no problem.

Interior still needs a good clean will do if I get chance.

Selling the 230E
also a 230E with a 2.4 diesel engine
and 200 petrol

3 must go beofre my missuse kills me.
