I wasn't even in the car when I reversed and hit the fence! Not sure I'm brave enough to share the sorry tale just yet and anyway, it's not about alloy damage so would be off topic.

I too want to hear how you reversed a car without being in it!

True, true...
I'm always nervous when my car is sticking out wider than others - the E Coupe is not a narrow car and streets around here are often a bit tight!
Not to mention that
some don't stop if they ding your pride and joy...

My guess is most won't stop, even if you are in the car.
I was driving my van and had to move to the kerb and stop because of a narrow road with a flatbed lorry coming towards me, he didn't even slow down and smashed my door mirror, he just kept going and I didn't get his number.
On another occasion my van was parked with the mirror folded in an a van still managed to smash it.
A witness came to tell me what happened but again he didn't get the number.
Seems most people only stop when they know wouldn't get away with it if they drove off.

Empty garage, awaiting new toy :)
Hi, I kerbed a wheel recently (ggrrrr) and I'm sure we all get irked when that happens! Am wondering what the views and recommendations are from members.

* fixed by independent or chain?
* DIY fix?
* any deterioration issues if it's not fixed immediately?
* and, just out of pure curiosity, what's the longest anyone has gone without kerbing any wheel on their car?

I use a mobile company they come to my door or work .
Well probably a week as its impossible not to ding a kerb or width restriction in my area.

Playing hard to get eh!

I don't think we can PM with the new style board, I've started a conversation instead that you should be able to read.
Please don't drink tea or beer whilst reading it as I will not be responsible for keyboard damage due to drinks being spat all over it.
