Key issue on w211

Hello,
I own a 2005 e200 1.8 litre, kompressor estate.
Over the last few days, when I put the key in the ignition, it takes up to 10 seconds for it to register, before i can turn it and start the car?

I am seeing the same problem with both keys.

Any ideas? I have ruled out both batteries as they are new and voltage has been checked.

It would look as though the EIS ignition switch is failing, this maybe something that Mark can fix
