lack of get up and go on a 08

Gentlemen forgive me Imay have put my first post under the wrong section,
Iwas trying to find out after driving a slk200 auto kom with 18000 miles on it this seemed to want to go ,against one with 4500 miles on seemed sluggish Iwas told its because the one with less miles is not run in yet really both on 08 plates, from main dealer as you lot are the pros could there be anything to worry about as Iprefer the one with less miles {colour and amg package)
any help appreciated thank you

There may well be some truth in what the salesperson says but its equally likely there's a slight problem with the lower mileage car that's never been effectively addressed since it left the factory?
