Shut boot on my CL500, its shuts and instantly Boing! pops right open!, tried again, same thing.

Not exactly "something for the week end sir"

Unwelcome news, in that this would technically be its first failure since new to me in September ( as long as you exclude defective batteries, faults I knew about when I bought her, and damage caused by **** workmaship of the wheel restorer ... all these things I dont count in the reliability stakes, and of course neither do I count service items like changing oils etc. )

Plus as she lives outside, a fully open boot is not exactly conducive to the UKs weather. :)

Tried a third time, same thing.
WTF , thought I might as well open her with the key, and start engine, and shut it off, and lock it, to try and reset it.

Ooops where are my keys ... hidden under a jumper in the Boot!! Drrrrr

Retrieved those, then shut the boot bingo!
What a nice feature, :):):):)

Obviously this design engineer could never get a job in the headlight design department ... he just would not fit in ... he might even come up with a design where one can change the sidelight bulbs without dismantling the front half of the car. Blimey if he did that, his colleages would probably burn him at the stake! "What use your brain ... not allowed in this department!"

So you actually have to open and close the boot manually?????? Sounds a bit primitive to me
