I'm happy with the hijack - it's ABC/230 related so all good.
I do agree with Andy about SBC. As it stands it's a ticking time bomb- at least in the movies you get a nice red LED display counting down so you defuse it at 1....

SBC has a very long fuse. Mine has been ticking for 4 years and counting.
It's a consumable, same as brake discs. Certainly nothing to lose sleep over..........unlike ABC;)

What would Jack Bauer do without red countdown timers?

Well, he’d probably give the SBC pump a Bauer Power Stare and have a lifetime of perfect braking operation :D

Did a little run out today covering about 35 miles (about 15 times the distance from the body shop to home) and no apparent leak yet.

However.... as we got in the car to come home there was a hissing sound and the passenger massage seat stpped working. Sounds like that needs to come apart now :(

I have a spare valve block if you need it.

Just remember what Malcolm said about that car- if it worked all the time it’d be boring!

This couldn't be more accurate...I had a faulty oil level sensor on my 2003 SL55. Crawled under the car yesterday to install a new one only to notice my ABC pump is leaking. off to Germany next week it goes for a rebuild.

It’s the same price now to buy a rebuilt one from MB UK. Call Grangemouth NB and ask for Fraser. I say this as one who has had experience of German rebuilt ABC pump quality and warranty...

So these guys aren't worth considering?
https://www.abcteile24.de
They are the same company (but not the same name) as the people who refused to honour the warranty of the pump I bought from them, failed after about two weeks. MB UK charged me £480 for a recon pump with full warranty.

What was their reason for refusing to stand over the warranty?

“We do not recognise the mode of pump failure as conforming to our warranty”. It started losing pressure 3 days after being fitted...

Was that after you sent it back? What do they charge for the rebuild?

Yes. They then returned it to me.

Their rebuild cost is a core exchange service. You send your old pump, they send a rebuilt pump. For almost the same price you can get the same service from MB UK with MB’s warranty, which I’d trust a damn sight more than some fly by night Jerry outfit.
