Hi guys right my mechanic got to see my e55 other day and noted down all things I needed to bring it back to perfect spec.
But he didn't have the correct obd plug as my w210 needed a rounded plug or something... Now I've seen ones on eBay just curious if anyone has bought one or could help me thanks... as he wanted to check for fault codes etc thanks guys

You can't use a obd2 reader in a 210. It predates that standard.
You need a dedicated MB reader such as star or Carsoft (as opposed to icarsoft).
Each module in the car connects to a separate pin in the 38 pin plug. OBD2 uses can bus and a multiplexer in the car to query each module. Early diagnostics requires a multiplexer external to the vehicle to read all the codes.
The OBD2 to 38 pin adapters only connect pin 4 so will only query a subset of codes.
The STAR and Carsoft readers include a multiplexer external to the car to query each module correctly.

I've got the 38 pin connector and Chinese multiplexer kit available, on which to run Carsoft 7.4.

I believe one needs an old laptop with a RS232 port, running XP, although possibly a USB converter might work.
I've never used it. Me and computers don't get on.

I do indeed have a full kit for sale, and also if you're near Northampton, I'd be happy to read the codes for you too :)

I live in east Anglia... So I can buy the kit ?? Any links for me ??? The main problem I have is when I put it at full throttle as in pedal to the kick down switch it goes like in a kind of limp mode ... But no lights on dash or anything. But when I turn engine off and on again it resets and it's fine until I drive ... I drive at 70 percent throttle and it's ok but anything to the bottom and boom it does it again. ... My friend had code reader and was like he didn't have the right plug thingy... So I really appreciate the response guys :)

Here's the link: http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/i...kit-toughbook-cf-19-multiplexer-clone.164453/

I will also include a second (original) HD with WinXP Tablet installed, in a spare HD cradle, so you can swap them, almost instantly, and have a two different setups, if desired.

There's also a brand new USB Endoscope camera, waterproof, 10mm diameter, 5m cable - useful thing to have when poking around hard to reach places (in you car that is o_O )

If bought at the asking price (which is considerably less, than the cost of all the upgrades and components), I will also include a perfect Targus carry case for the Toughbook.

The cable you require would be one of the two, in the upper part of this pic:
