Interestingly, an attempt is being made to resuscitate the Interlagos name in producing another Renault based sports car.

A brave endeavour, but I fear the designers are going to find financial backing rather difficult in the present economic clime....

I felt the A110 'clone' was missing a je ne sais quois.Unfortunately I have to agree with you about the funding issue for the new one.Fabulous looking car though.

Absolutely - the original Alpine was raw, minimalist and built like a Lotus (i.e.it needed a rebuild every weekend). It would rev like the clappers and there was really only one position for the loud pedal, and that was flat against the floor..... and it was utterly and unmistakeably french. The Willys clone looks altogether too limp wristed.
