Hi can anyone inform me if there is a regular meeting for Mercedes owners in the Cheltenham Gloucester region please?

If there isn't is one set up, is there anyone interested in meeting up.

Am happy to arrange a venue if required.

Hope to hear from interested members

    Thanks
    Chris

Hi Steve, I'm pleased someone else is in the area, and thanks Sarah for the invitation to Oxon area the Xmas bash sounds like it could be good fun.

I have met with the GT 40 owners club and Westfield club who both have regular meets in the area, and I thought it would be good fun for some like minded Mercedes owners to meet up.
There are lots of good places to meet up in the area it just needs cars:)

Spread the word I'm sure we can muster something up.

Don't know exactly how far you're prepared to travel, but there's a meet on in Silchester (just South of Reading) next Saturday the 20th June. Not too bad a distance from you I'd have thought...

Thread HERE about it of you're interested?

Thanks but trip is circa an hour each way for me (reason I know is i took my son to Reading Uni last year)
It would be good to see if a Cheltenham/Gloucester get together could be organised
    :D

Thanks from what I am gleaning from other clubs I have visited it is not a requirement to bring your pride and joy to every meeting unless you want to but it is worthwhile meeting up. The local Westfield group have some interesting speakers and lectures occasionally and the GT40 local meet all meet and have something to eat and chat over a drink.
It is surprising how informal relaxed meetings in a nice environment can generate ideas and interest.

If interest in Gloucestershire can be mustered it would be interesting to meet and see what develops.

This would be the same as the RROC where small local meets were held. The car that you came in was not important unless it was for a point of discussion.

I used to hold meets at my place, as it was large enough and we often tackled some jobs. Not sure that this could be done on our cars due to the complex nature of the builds and the time taken to access components.

The Essex group have managed to hold regular meets, it would be nice if other areas could do the same.

    Thanks,
that is the sort of thing very informal and I must say the Westfield group have some smashing talks, NB I do not have a Westy but they made me very welcome.

A local group has lots of benefits and can be tailored to local needs.

I have added an R129 Silver Arrow earlier this year (bought using this forum), but having embarked on several jobs the specialist nature of several interior aspects has/is required lots of time sourcing information and contacts.
Whereas if a local meet existed it would be ideal to discuss detail amongst local people as using local skills/knowledge has advantages

Yes good points there and I know the 129 quite well, how it comes apart and where to go. I would just keep posting it could get of the ground.

    Hi John
Great to hear from you hope you can recall you kindly showed me your car several years prior, we exchanged details but due to IT glitch I lost your details.

Based upon that experience and several shows plus reading up I have been seeking a Silver Arrow since and am pleased to say I located and bought number 55 out of the 100 produced, earlier this year.

Coincidentally I have spoken to SW Merc owner John Cleeve whom I told you about and I know has helped you out with some spares am pleased to say John has said he will come along to a meeting.

Be good if anyone interested could pm me their contact details please as we can organise something soon and see how it goes.
    Thanks
    Chris

Hi thanks when I have received a number of enquiries I will find a location that will accommodate a group meeting.
Is there any preferance of which day is best to meet up?

    Thanks Chris

Another Gloucestershire resident, I know the Cheltenham-Cirencester area well :) I used to live in Kemble, recently moved to Brockworth/Gloucester area.
