B-Class/2013/200Cdi
Hello

I am a new owner of a Mercedes B-class 200Cdi, automatic, 225/45 R18 , continental tyres . The car was bought new (2013) and since day one I have a quite serious vibration issue (steering, seats) on the highway especially at 105 km/h (and above). I informed the dealer right away, their reply was that I have to drive the car for some time and the problem would disappear. After 2000km it didn't. The Mercedes dealer technicien then drove the car, said it was not acceptable, he rebalanced the tyres, the problem remained, he called the engineer at Mercedes HQ, who replied it was normal and they will not take in charge any investigation or repair cost. Meaning they know the issue, they don't want to fix it and they don't want to take into account the technicien test drive results. Since then I sent a letter to Mercedes and I am waiting for the reply.

After reviewing several forums, it seems that the problem is spread, it concerns several models, and every time: the dealer recognizes the situation but Mercedes refuses to aknowledge it or fix it, stating that it is within their vibration level requirements !

Therefore I would like to ask especially the persons working at Mercedes dealerships if they know this problem and if they have some info on how to solve it.
Because what is sure is that I cannot live with it, I feel I was ripped off and I cannot sell the car as it is.

I am looking forward for your support

Not heard of this, there are a few W246 owners on here so they should reply. I take it you have the Sport model.

Get the wheels balanced elsewhere....

I had a problem years ago after buying new tyres. They apparently balanced the wheels, took the car back due to vibration, but it remained so took elsewhere and re-banced and car was fine

I have a 55 plate B class and am not aware of the issue.
I presume you have tried changing tyres and rebalanced?

If the car is new and still in warranty, take it to a different dealership and tell them that your dealership cannot fix it.

I have a W246 B180CDi and the only vibrations I experience are the drumming sounds which make the whole car vibrate when driving above 40mph with the windows open

We have exactly the same problem, if you have the 18" alloys like us with those horrible run flats then you can minimise it with wind deflectors but ultimately it's the tyres that are the problems. If i were to purchase another B Class 180 i would go with a different wheel & tyre option. Everyone i speak to says the same thing about run flats, they are noisy!!

This is an old thread! The original poster hasn't been seen since 2013.
