We have two threads almost the same, here is the answer from the boss for Sweden, Peter Roos at a recent interview to the press.
Q,How good is it in reallity with Daimler Chrysler.[/I]
A, I do not think its so bad, the number of cars sold in Sweden has gone up from 6000 in 04 to 7000 in 05. MB has always lost out on volume selling in Sweden through the taxing of company cars, and this hits the E and C Class. it is the A and B Class that are on the way up, and figures to May, show that sales are still rising for the AC and E models.
Q, Why do you not try and sell more cars.
A, We do not do well in Stockholm where most people live in Sweden so we are building a new outlet in the biggest entrance to Stockholm on "The Kings Curve" and no one can miss us. Our New motto is " Customer satisfaction No1"
We are today more expensive than BMW and Audi, and that we will always be on the grounds that our cars are much better equiped as standard and you get more for your money, and our mian theme will be that anyone who buys a premium car, will get a premium service, its going to take a couple of years, but we are getting there said Peter Roos.
Q[/B],There are those who believe that their nearly new E Class will start to rust, what are you going to say to them.
A, We promise to do our best to help them, and inspite of whats said in the press, we are trying hard, but we cant do it all in one day.
Q.[/B] Is the rust problem over with the New E Class. A It took a while to sink in, but there are no problems now, The rust problem found on the W211 was only for cars made in the first year, and that has now all been sorted out.
Q Are we right in thingking that your cars are made for the 40+ age group.
A. With a smile he said, Whats wrong with us older ones, we do now have the SLK and the CLS to inspire the young ones.
Q. have you done your sums right to have 16 different models in your line up.
A. Good question, for years and years we only had 4 models, but like everything else people want a big choice today, A figure in the middle would be better.
Q. How many R Class will you sell in 2006.
A. Maybe 150.
Q. how many are still with the dealers.
A. about 30 as every dealer keeps one.
Q, If BMW and Audi start to sell better than MB will you start a price war .
A. As I said earlier we will never do that, just offer the customer more car for the money,with more equipment , and MB will never be cheaper than a BMW or Audi.
