Hello All,

My Mercedes e240, 1999, automatic, keeps cutting out when accelerating. It goes into limp mode. At slower speeds it drives perfectly.

My mechanic put in new spark plugs but did not resolve the problem. We also tried changing coil pack but no result.

The car is slightly mis-firing when on idle, one of the cylinders isn't firing which explains why it cuts out at high revs, but need advice and guidance on why this is happening please?

I read somewhere that it could be the MAF sensor, can this be the case?

Thank you in advance

Need some work to identify which cylinder or cylinders are misfiring. If all on one bank it's quite likely to be a restricted catalyst. A single cylinder look at plugs/leads/coil pack. These also used to be good for water in the fuel rail.
