    Hi all,

New to the forum, so would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself, I'm Maciej, live in London, have owned the E350 for a year now and very happy with it. Switched to Mercedes from a BMW 330i E92.

As mentioned, I've had the car for a year now, and it feels like I need a change, don't necessarily want to change the car, but would like to add a little bit more power.

I've read various threads on the forum but would want to know what are the different options to add power and at what cost? Don't want to be spending thousands of £!

Would be good if fellow members could share their experiences if possible!

Car is the 231BHP version, done around 90k miles. Do you guys think it is wise to remap at this mileage? What impact will it have on the engine reliability/transmission?

    Thanks,
    Maciej

Absolutely fine to remap at the mileage, my previous 211 got mapped at 80k and ran happily to 162k before I begrudgingly sold it with no problems. You have a couple of options from your location, GAD Tuning as well as MSL London both are well known tuners and will look after you

My C Class with the same engine was done by GAD, can't fault them and it makes a real weapon

    Thanks guys!

@JBell - few questions, did you have your dpf removed? And what is the power gain? Also how is the gearbox after the remap, is it smoother in any way?

    Cheers!

DPF still in, it's illegal to remove

gone to about 300hp and 700 Torques

    Gearbox is great, very smooth

    Thanks for the reply!

Debating between GAD and MLS atm, will depend on the price I reckon - don’t mind a drive to Bgham.

Will post an update once done.

Their prices are not far apart, MSL are well respected on here, my personal experience of GAD was excellent and I would definitely use them again

Price is very similar with both the companies the main advantage MSL has over GAD is their dyno on site, so any problems can be sorted really quickly with the maps, saying that GAD are still a good place

Interestingly, had a reply from both places. Price and power/toque improvements vary quite a lot!

GAD claim their map will add around 70bhp and 180n/m whereas MSL claim 40-50bhp and around 80n/m - which in my opinion is quite low for the engine!

Was expecting the improvements to be quite similar to be honest.

    Thanks,

I cannot comment on either GAD or MSL but it makes sense to me that thane company with the in house dyno quote figures which lower as they will be checked/ proven.
