Mercedes R230 SL55 AMG Command Stereo system not available error

Hi

So havent really paid much attention to my stereo which has been constantly turning on and off with this message popping up "system nicht verfugbar" on display, i have tried clicked on FM/AM, NAV and CD but nothing seems to be fixing this issue as it just switches off. Anyone able to advise on this issue?

Finally getting the old beast up and running last thing I want is not listening to anything whilst driving even though mind you hearing the V8 is music in my ears.

Also noticed in my boot theres a gap dunno what goes in there but heres a pic anyway

Trying to remember what mine looked like!
Could that be the gap where a multi CD stacker was located and been removed? Might explain the stereo issue.
At least your PSE pump looks dry!

cd stacker in box behind pass seat. and as per advise on here lifted my pse onto 4mm polystrene inside plastic zip bag, out of most poss water, also did boot leak fix ,anyway ,never had any water in boot.

In mine the gap is filled with the breakdown warning triangle and it is covered by another separate piece which hides it

If your car is a model year 2005 (mid 2004 onwards) then you should have the navigation drive in that space!

The 'system unavailable' message is because either the AGW has failed or there is a break in the fibre loop. Looking at that gapping hole id say its the fibre loop has been broken!

Mine is indeed 2005, Would you be able to assist helping me find a part number so I can replace this navigation drive also in reagrds to the fibre loop how do I go ahead about repairs
