Hi all new member here so be gentle lol

I recently replaced a front lower wishbone on front offside I thought I knew what I was doing but to be honest I didn't.. It was the 1St time I'd came across double wishbone suspension.
Upon removal the wishbone nearly took my fingers off due to the preload of what I now know was the middle torsion bar. I battled on removing the middle torsion bar bolt and eventually got it all put back together but now the jeep is nose diving with what feels like only suspension coming from the torsion bar.
Where did I go wrong?
Does the rear of the jeep need to be on the ground or off the floor at the point I put the large hexagon part of the wishbone into the torsion bar? I've totally messed up here and my local garages won't touch it as they don't know how to set it up.. And to be honest it's an old jeep that I don't want to spend mega money on in an autoshop
The front was raised onto jacks and I can't remember if I'd raised the rear at point of putting the wishbone hex into the torsion bar as I was very tired at the time..
I will be removing and starting again but I'm lost as to where I've gone wrong..
Any advice would be very much appreciated and thanks in advance

Well if that's how you feel....
I'll keep my thoughts on your problem to myself. Good luck elsewhere.

The 18mm bolt that us used to load the torsion bar and change the ride height is the bolt to remove first.

Then remove the torsion bar. Then wishbone. the time consuming part is getting the bolt out.

With the nose of the car off the ground rebuild and the bolt goes in last, there is a 2nd hole on the cover plate measure the depth on the good side and adjust the side your working on to the correct depth.

Sounds like the torsion bar bracket hasn't been adjusted correctly but measure the depth on the 2nd hole.
