Hi guys, I would like some advice since I have taken my car to different mechanics to see if they can figure out what is wrong with my car.
So I brought the car year a go and notice that the car pushes just fine but when I leave it on idle, stop at red light and something similar the car loses power, taken to some mechanics to figure it out even to mercedes and they connect it to the computer and it doesn't show nothing wrong they saw what it does but can't figure it out.
Any advices?

Put your location into your profile and then someone can recommend an MB indy in your area

The MB diagnostic tool that MB dealers and good MB independents use to diagnose what is wrong with MBs. Without it you are down to guesswork which can work out expensive.

Already spent 1.5k on the car and still the same. I just would like to get it fixed.

But the thing is I already took it to MB dealers but they say that the diagnostic doesn't show anything wrong so they can do nothing but they tried the car and they know there is something there they just don't know what it is because it doesn't show in the machine

Sadly it’s luck if you may get a highly skilled snd experienced technician in a dealership nowadays or just a plugs and play mechanic.

A good independent won’t try and fob you off and hope you go away with a fault they can’t can’t resolve easily. If the fault can be replicated then this is where, as mentioned above, a person who has knowledge and can look at live data driving or being driven is what you need.

^ What he said - there will be something in the live data that points to the issue

so when you stop at idle for a time temperature in the engine compartment likely goes up everything likely warms up a bit, something in there not liking excess heat maybe a sensor goes out of spec something that affects engine power but the ECU can't see,

I would be thinking about sensors, (air, temp, crank and cam shaft sensors) common rail pressure, injectors, injectors leaking fuel or compression, manifold leak/crack, turbo and EGR, soot in inlet air manifold, sticking butterfly in inlet manifold if there is one, fuel pump pressure, fuel filter,

worst case maybe would be thinking about porous or cracked cylinder head, timing chain/valve gear problems, etc

also would be thinking about O2 sensors, during idle with car stopped they could be heating up and going faulty? also if exhaust system and cat not sooted up,

then the ECU and ECU connector, wiring loom in engine bay damaged wires to sensor connectors damaged sensor connectors

Thank you for your reply,
We will see went to mercedes again and they said they going to a detail check up.
One thing that I noticed was that when it goes into that mode the turbo starts to whistle loud you can even ear it inside and if you go near the exhaust it looks like the car has free flow.
But they said turbo is good so I'm waiting now..

it may be something else whistling and not the turbo, alternator is good at whistling/whining if it has a problem
