    hiya all,
no doubt some of you are aware of my painful experience trying to restore an old merc, if you are not, you can read about it here.

anyhow... long story short a forum member kindly posted a link to an ebay listing showing some car parts which i (maybe stupidly) bid on, as they were cheap... dumb thing is the seller is in the Midlands (of the UK) and i'm in Sweden (south). I won the auction... but i'm in Sweden.

So what i need from one very kind individual is for you to pickup the stuff and store it until i can figure out a way to get it from the UK to Sweden cheaply...

can any of you help me with that please ?
    cheers
    niall

    Nice one!
I think Ken and Kiwi both offered to do so on the thread?

I've offered but am in the south west of France currently and not back till Thursday earliest. The other issue I have is I only have an SL to collector in.
If no one else can help I'm happy to as a last resort.

Getting the engine block into an SL would be fun Alastair!! I'm too far away or I'd offer to help, would be easy with my S204!!

I'm thinking getting it out on my own would be worse!

How big is it? Will it fit into my C169 with rear seats folded down?

I can offer to collect, but I have no garage, so can't store it, and if it's heavy (as I'm sure it is), it might be rather tricky, with my back ...

I suppose, we can join forces Alastair, if no one else comes around?

Doubt it easily David. I would think with the engine block and other bits it will need to be a S211/S212/Vito
They will be heavy! Especially engine block and cylinder head
Sorry Niall I’m a bit too far also to help, hope someone with aforesaid larger car chips in...

I see ... The 169 is deceptively roomy inside - this pic is 168, and the 169 has 15% more cargo space (apparently):

However, the weight, or lifting it to be precise, is a scary thought ... was unwell for a few days, after removing and refitting my front bumper recently ha ha.

Is it likely to fit in the boot of a w204, and how heavy/large is it?

You could ask a courier on ebay to pick it up and deliver to aother location in the uk , that will hold it for you till the time you can pick it up.. Only have a nissan micra to do it with .The wifes car not an option .

I don't mind picking it up but not sure how I'd get it back out at the other end, it can sit in my garage until you can arrange shipping.

Can anyone offer a rough guess as to the total weight (including a pallet at about 25kg)?

When getting quotes for shipping, it is all about weights and dimensions. It should all got on a Euro pallet (1000mm x 800) and probably stand about 700mm high.

    Hi anyweb
I could collect for you and store in my workshop/shed
    I have a e320 estate so collecting shouldn’t be a problem, it’s used as a workhorse anyway.
Had a Vetus M218 marine engine init this week for a couple of days
I live in Halesowen so not to far away from seller
Let me know if I can help
