Mercedes E400 Convertible
Hi all, well at the grand old age of 50 (in 20 days) I've finally purchased a Mercedes Benz. I've owned BMW's for over 20 years, but I've wanted to own a Mercedes for years but just couldn't never find the car I wanted.

That was until this beauty came along....

IMG_4346.JPG The condition is "as new" with one former private keeper. 22,000 miles with full supplying dealer history and a spec list as long as my arm. I picked it up Thursday and to date Ive covered 548 miles and loved everyone!

I really enjoy being a member on good forums and I've joined a few over the years including UKGSER, KTM, TRF to name a few as I'm an all year biker as well.

Anyway, just wanted to say "HI" and introduce myself and my car.

Welcome, looks very nice, have you tried it in the snow today?
Mine are on 17" winter tyres this time of the year, transforms the handling & grip.

Hi and welcome. The car looks lovely! Uses proper fuel too ;)
Thank you. The 350d is an amazing engine, but I had to have the petrol E400 after reading the reviews and seeing it in action on Youtube.

With it averaging approx. 31 mpg on a run, I can live with that. Its silky smooth, sounds lovely and pulls well in all gears.

No, I left her tucked up in the garage, but I'm looking out for a set of winter wheels as I plan to keep the car for a few years.

I've owned winter wheels before and they are a must have I've always felt when the temperature starts to drop. There one of those things that you don't appreciate the benefits of having them fitted unless you've owned them before and had them fitted.

Hi Steve, looks like we will have to find another way to commute in for a few days at least. Is that the GTR 1400 in your avatar?

Yes wide summer tyres, rear wheel drive, & an auto box don't mix well with snow. I have fitted winter tyres since 2009, would not be without them.

Stunning car!

No going back now, the e convertible is a bit of a design icon in my opinion and you’ve picked the best engine. I really liked the early cars with the Ponton rear arches but they have updated well

Enjoy the car!
