New ML270 owner.

Evening all,

Recently brought a 2003 ML270 2 owners 80k. Nicely looked after car but as to be expected it’s got its problems.

Firstly the swirl flaps are knackered and keeps putting it in too ‘limp mode’ Is there anyone out there who I can send my manifold to for them to delete the flaps and plug the holes?

Secondly after doing the rear springs today I realised the rear anti roll bar bushes were pretty worn out. Can you get Poly bush kits for the ML’s?

Other than that it’s a nice car with a lot of potentional, that’s going to keep me busy over the next couple of months!

Has anyone brought a Swirl flap delete kit for a Merc of x8r? I can only see kits for BMW’s and fiats....

the fun your going to have pal , I did my swirl flaps myself back when I was daft enough to buy an ML , I used large bolts and wound them into each swirl hole as the manifold is plastic , worked a treat and the bolts were free

Lol probably what I’m going to end up doing, I’ve read about loads of different methods people have used. Quite like the bungs they do on x8r for BMWs so hopefully they do some for the ML.

Try looking at the jeep forums as well the grand cherokee also has the om642 engine so a lot of problems have been addressed by them as well
