New Owner, Key Query?

Hi everyone,

Just got a 2001 A160 for the girlfriend is great but only came with one key; a flick blade with infrared sensor one?

Does anyone know if I would be able to reprogramme a key if i buy the guts from ebay and get another blade cut?

Or would I have to get a brand new key? If so does anyone have any recommendations in the midlands area for somewhere cheap.

The flip out keys cost £175 ish from MB you cannot re program and secondhand one

Unless I missed something, they charge £190 for a new key (unless you can get to their workshop). If Television is right (and he usually is) then it would be cheaper, in this instance at least, to get it from Mercedes themselves.

I got mine for £165 at the local main dealer due to my Merc being over 6 years old and thus got a 40% discount

We don't do the flip out key!!

It's a pain in the bum, and better sourced from the dealer!

They are strange in that they can drift off some who, they can send out a good IR beam or RF but just do not tie in with the car. I have had at least 20 where they do not work, I have changed the Xtals but still no go.
