Hi all,

Just thought I would say Hi.
Just bought a used E Class 3.0 E350 CDI Sport and have to say I am loving it. I have gone from a 2006 Boxster S so bit of a change. I loved the wee Boxster but due to a change in circumstances I had to change to something a bit more practical., 4 seats, consumption etc.

Any recommendations that I should think about regards to performance/handling upgrades, thanks in advance.

Craig

Hi Craig and welcome.
You’ve picked arguably the best engine and in the coupe (presume or is it cabrio?)it will go very nicely thank you!
I’ll leave those with that model to give you specifics on performance upgrades - a map is the obvious place to begin. Which year is the car and where are you based please?
Cheers

Hi John, thanks for the quick welcome.
The car is 2010, Black and coupe. The car looks and drives like a new car. It has 88000 with full service history. Based just outside Glasgow so next will be to look for a good indie garage.

Your Mercedes model designation is the C207 (W207) platform. The E class Saloon / Estate are the W212/S212 and share many parts but not all, so you need to be clear that that they fit the 207 platform when buying parts.

Welcome buddy , nice car . Post a few pics when you get time :D . Also I would check that the ATF and filter change was done on the gearbox . Should have been at 37500 miles .( And every 40k miles after that as well ...this bit isn't an MB schedule though)

Hi Craig and welcome to the forum. That is a lovely car - I know because I’ve just traded in mine after 8 very happy years driving one!

Welcome, I have the 212 E350CDI saloon very pleased.
I had two CLK's before but my wife does not travel light, so the coupe boot was too small.

Welcome Craig, lovely motors and a superb engine

Your Mercedes model designation is the C207 (W204 platform). The E class Saloon / Estate are the W212/S212 and share many parts but not all, so you need to be clear that that they fit the 207 platform when buying parts.

Corrected that for you ;)

Just back from offshore so going to start spending a bit of time looking over the car.
Yip will get that checked JBell and thanks for correcting.
Regarding the remap, any recommendations who to use? Someone at work that has a newer E Coupe has lowered his with H&R springs and wheel spacers, got to say looks nice, not chavy at all.

A trip to GAD North probably the best bet

Also heard there was a tuner around Motherwell, maybe Bellshill nowadays with a dyno? Something like Autotech or similar? Not had reports on their work though, whereas GAD, Big Fish, MSL are well respected...

Hi John, contacted a company called Angel Tuning, decent price £289. Will look about a wee bit more but think that is a decent price and they have a good review.
My car doesn't come with Sat Nav, its no big deal, however is it possible to do a retro Sat Nav install of the original Sat Nav that came with Mercs at that time. Is it a SW upgrade?

Looking to upgrade the wheels on the car as they are pretty curbed, thinking to do something similar to the attached photo. Any idea what is the wheel sizes that I can upgrade to?

Thanks in advance for advise
