hi thought I'd introduce myself
Dave from Norwich
Just got myself a 2003 SL 350 about a week ago
Already got problems I knew I would possibly find
Leaky boot and locking problems
So hi to one and all and the journey begins

Welcome, shame your starting off with issues, 230s are great cars but they as your seeing have problems, that said they're mostly problems that can be fixed yourself with a good set of tools and patience. Good luck with the car and again welcome.

Re wet boot and problems with locking do a search on here for Malcolm's 230 boot leak fix, then once you have it dried out get yourself a multi meter to see if the pse pump is damaged by the water or if you can get away with cleaning up all the connections and switch cleaner

Thanks for welcome I did research cars before I bought so had a good idea on what I may find
But car was good value and only just on 50 thousand with low owners so I thought was worth the risk
I have tools and patience as I've just finished building a AC cobra replica over the last 2 years

You will be fine, lots of knowledge here as well if you ever get stuck, you've bought the car with your eyes open and apart from this little proble should be good
