as earlier these posts suggests...

if the comand doesn't display any radio stations its usually the audio gateway amp/tuner in the boot that is faulty.... the board can look brand new but its dead or dying, its very common (affecting both the small and the larger HK amps) and 9 out of 10 repairs is totally unsuccessful

the new amp is broken as are most secondhand ones...
the old amp seems OK from a MOST perspective, hence stations display... but no sound, yet you do have a display of stations, this is new to me, not heard this ever before.

its not the mute button or something ?

Now my CL, the same as your 221 did display the pictures and navigation.

Its quite simple, the only wake up on the car is the comand N40 head unit, the Harmon amp and the battery control module.

Just do a quick test on STAR and it will probably say fault on the battery module (no wake up) and fault on the comand. Its possible the fault is in the head unit or in the battery module.

The X34/14 connector is under the carpet front passenger side, this is where the 3 things plug in.

If the batteries have been disconnected and joined up in the wrong order, this can give problems, and this can lock up. The starter battery must be connected first, then the rear one. the front battery never needs to be disconnected to isolate the car interior electrics. to disconnect the rear battery you just remove the 13mm bolt on the right side of the boot under the cover, it has a black cable on it.

In my case and thread I left the 12volt wake up plug out and it came back to life as it can wake up on the MOST optical ring.

Your head unit is not waking up, thats the way it looks to me, it will say in STAR.
Would disconnecting the batteries and connecting them in the right order solve this problem?

Hi does anybody know how to open Malcolm’s link that he posted? I’ve tried to open it but it says I don’t have admin privileges?

Hi , not the wrong terminals as in the starter battery under the bonnet and the auxiliary battery in the boot,
