Yes but being a TVR owner you'll be used to sitting at the side of the road awaiting on a recovery truck :D:rolleyes:
Was going to say, punctures would be the least of your problems, probably get punctured more moving on and off the pickup wagon than in driving......?

Clipped a kerb in the 911, chunk out of the sidewall. The collapsible spare worked a treat, but the damaged wheel had to sit on the passenger seat - nowhere else for it to go! It was the rear wheel (11inch rim and 295 tyre). I was so angry with myself for clipping the kerb that the last thing I wanted to do was sit around waiting for a recovery truck and I was only 15 minutes away from our Porsche indie.

That grinding sound is an awful sound isn't it. :(

I almost don’t want to say this never mind type! I can’t remember the last time I had a puncture or flat! Ok a few slows but that’s it.
So for me I’d go the Mobilo route
I’ve avoided runflats successfully also so far...
 Hopefully that’s not jinxed it....

lets get real. no spare is a cost per unit, car issue, and buxxer all to do with mpg. .like no sump plug, saves a cent on X million cars production costs... tyre, wheel valve, tool kit parts ,many cents..understand punctures less frequent , BUT i want option to change ,not call ,finance recovery costs to save maker a few cents.

That’s the real point isn’t it?
Surely give people the option they prefer, or is that too difficult nowadays?

The only flat I've had in recent years was with a run flat on the 116d, having to drive no more than 50 mph whilst fighting with the constant pulling to the left for 20 miles was horrible!

Horrible tyres run flats , and very expensive . I understand the desire to have a spare , but a puncture is only another form of breakdown , and most of use don't carry a spare battery , alternator , various sensors etc . We just carry a breakdown/recovery phone number . I think if I had a car that didn't have space for a spare wheel I wouldn't buy one .

I have a space saver at the moment, but didn't think about calling the AA if I had a flat!

A lot of people can't change wheels , they have got to call someone to do it for them . That's without problems like the wheels not coming off , the bolts being too tight , the ground being too soft for the crappy little jack . :D

Should be part of the terms of having a driving licence to change a wheel.

and before the elf and safe tea brigade start, if you can't change it without putting yourself at risk, wtf are you doing putting some poor sole at risk due to your laziness in learning a vital skill. So there :shock:

Last time I changed one in an emergency was on the cross hatch of the A303/M3 J8 in rush hour in the outside lane of the A303 nearside M3 lane in the dark and raining. ;);)

A spare is not an option for me - rear tyres are wider than the fronts so I would have to carry 2. A skinny may be the answer but I wouldn’t fancy throwing a punctured tyre and wheel in the boot on what would inevitably be a very wet day.

Good point, imagine if you have clothes, jackets in the boot, you wouldn't want to put it in the boot. But what do the aa do?

You guys need to get yourselves an SL55, like mine, it was designed not to have flat tyre issues and I got proof :D
No spare, no tyre weld, no pump and no slime ;) and to top it off, no flats :p
Though I have had blow outs before, but those were girls

Both my Smarts have different offset rims front & back too
