Hi, I'm new here. Any advice would be appreciated. There's a whirring noise coming from around the base of the wipers with a regular click every few seconds, when I switch the electrics on, before I start the engine. It continues with the engine on, and you can hear it when driving, especially when stationary. Any thoughts? No obvious malfunction. I'd post a video with sound, but I can't get it to accept the file. Car is a 1987 500SEC. Thanks for any suggestions
Ben

It could be the duo valve with aux pump working. Switch off heater fully and see if it disappears.

I see that the heater blower could be at fault, but these seldom move.

Wiper functions all OK. The whirr disappears when the cabin air (left and right) is switched to blue/cold, so I guess that switches off the hot air pump? Clicking is intermittent it seems, but reading around it I guess it could be the duovalve. The cabin heats up just fine, so the hot air is getting through. Need to see how easy it is to get at

Duo valves do click on/off to regulate heat.

The valves do click but dont whirr that I know of. I would think the pump below them (aux pump to keep the coolant flowing?) is being a bit noisy.

I wasn't sure if the pump was attached to valves or not. I think some are but I'm not sure if it's on 126's.
