Hello all;

Last night had the car in R and backing into the drive way, the engine was hot say above 80oC mark and the cooling fan kicked in. I must say it was like a turbo jet plan about to take off, why is it so loud and is the car broken?

Other times when the fan kicks in its not that loud. An example can be found on this YouTube video.

Thats normal high speed mode on the fan.
If it turned off and is normal now then its nothing to worry about.

The fans have two speeds - low and high. High will kick in when engine temp reaches a certain level. Low is used for the aircon.

Normal. Try having and Audi A6 if you want to hear noisy fans!

oh..... I will monitor it.

I was driving like a new learner when reversing the car. Kept driving forward and then reversing into my spot!

Took the car out today from home to work, was ok! the engine didn't get hot as much for the fan to kick in. I will still monitor.

Sounds normal tbh, try having a viscous cooling fan in the summer...lol.

Think the car is broken. Scrap it and buy a new one.
