Hi All,

I have a 2004 E220 CDI Estate. I am in the process of fitting a reversing camera to the car and the camera that I have purchased uses the passenger side number plate light hole.

How do I "fool" the Command system into thinking that the light is still there from a sensor perspective?

Kind regards,

Wouldn't it be an MOT fail with only one side lit up?

A number plate light - mounted camera would still have a light bulb, and a smaller window next to the cam - at least all the ones I ever seen did. As above, a single number plate light is an MOT failure.

The light bulb, will be, most likely LED, and probably with built-in resistor, so that SAM won't consider the bulb blown. Alternatively, it should be possible to fit a standard filament bulb back in.

Hi All,

Sorted it.

Camera holds the bulb as per original lens and camera slots into holder perfectly - leaving a working camera and a working passenger side numberplate light.
