Hi there I have a small question. Is it possiable for me to change the oil and filter myself? Or do I have to take it to a dealer? I have heard you need to reset something?

You haven't mentioned the model?

Newer models with the ASSYST service indicator will require that the system is reset after the oil change/service so that it can start an new countdown to the next.

There used to be a re-setting tool for BMW's available, which grounded a specific pin in the diagnostics socket. I don't know however, what is required with ASSYST in order to re-set it.

If you have an older model, then there's nothing to reset as the service is scheduled according to fixed mileage intervals.
