Hi noticed a couple weeping leaks on what I think is the turbo inter cooler?

Car is 2010 bluetec w212

The main leak is on the alloy pipe as in goes down the front. There appears to be a joint there behind the colt hose.

I have also noticed a bit of oil muck on the main body of the turbo from the intake around a orange seal.

I have read this is sort of normal, oil is ok and these leaks are not showing as drips on my garage floor.

Can someone identify what seals I might by to change and if it is a reasonable change to get out the alloy pipe...it looks fairly simple?

Thanks

There will be a small green seal available for it.

The pipe isn't too difficult to remove, but there is a small bolt at the front behind the radiator that holds the pipe into a bracket that's a pain to remove.

Thanks, yes seen the small bolt/screw and front but also saw maybe a bit trim that could be removed to aid access?

Any more detail on the name or codes for this seal? Is it main deal only or eBay etc?

I have just taken off the air intake section to get to the big orange seal and given all that a clean

I read that this oil is ok/should be inside and nothing to be concerned about?

Last time I had it serviced they mentioned it and only issue the mentioned was possible oil getting onto the multi rib belt?

Thanks

Best to call MB and give them your REG. They will sell you the seal, its MB only.

Yes, the oil in the intake is normal, no problem there. The seal should be changed when its leaking though as the inlet port shut off motor is directly underneath it.

Thanks, is the shut off port the bit below the orange seal?

Is the shut of motor the bit I have heard about that requires loads of the engine to be dismantled to get to?

Thanks will phone up MB and try to explain to them which seals I might need! I suspect they might guess?

So I need the big orange one and the green one (s) at each end of the metal pipe?

Found the extra bolt in the next black plastic section and now the alloy pipe is out. The seal at this end was soft and saggy and you could see was passing oil.

now I k ow and read your message it makes sense thought you ment the screw fitting that holds in the folk clamp?

Anyway not doing anything else tonight, and glad I took time to review and not crack or or I might have had the whole front end off.

Looks like an easy rebuild and nice to see the problem and that new seals should fix it
