Great website! Very easy to use.
Can anyone help me with a technical query please. I currently run a 420SE, 126 series. It has an oil leak coming from the main sump, not the smaller sump at the very bottom. I have asked two independent garages (not MB main dealers) who have given me conflicting advice. One says the engine will have to come out to replace the sump gasket, the other says it will not. Who is right?
thanks

Your best bet is to get advice from a MB dealer. There is a comprehensive list of dealers in the members' section of this site.

Thanks Andrew for coming in with something on that question.  In general M-B try and make certain that things will come apart reasonably quickly where they might need be got at.  But its not often that one needs to drop the sump on any car these days.  I admit to not knowing the answer and look forward to somone who has done it telling us.
