The manual parking brake on my CLS has always had the usual MB loud reassuring "clunk" when it is released , last night after work , no clunk but it does come off with no dragging.

So what return mechanism , that i will need to look at, on the parking brake system causes the brakes to come off with such a positive action ?

1- return spring at the pedal assembly
2- return mechanism at the point where the single cable splits into two, if it has one.
3- return mechanism at the rear brakes.

Thanks in advance

Kenny
