My Power steering pump has quite a bit of axial play (with the belt off), I've also got a rattle at idle which I think is caused by it.
Can the pump bearings be replaced or am I looking at sourcing a replacement?

There's no leak from the pump but the pulley has about an 1/8" axial play. All the other pulleys, including the idler, are fine.
The noise is a bit like chain rattle and only appears at idle, slightest touch on the throttle and it's gone. I fitted a new chain tensioner a couple of weeks ago and checked the chain which seemed fine. I meant to run the engine without the aux belt but didn't get round to it.
I'm too far away from home at the moment to risk playing with it, last time I did that I snapped the throttle cable.
