PHEV sorted yet?

Have Mercedes come along with a good PHEV yet that's the equal of Honda, Toyota etc. Without a driveway I can't have the hassle involved in going all electric - even wonder if it's foolish going down the PHEV route anyway. But IF Mercedes have got their act together by now would like to investigate the current situation.

Will people not learn the consequences of an electric vehicle damages to the environment. Far greater than any production of petrol, why, because of the mining of the lithium on Africa to produce the batteries not to mention all the slave labour in the Asian countries to finish producing the batteries, but not only ev car batteries but cell phone batteries, and 12v electrically operated tools of the trade.
Then there is the disposal of worn out batteries going to land fill and further destruction of the planet, but hey ho, the greens aren't only green, there green behind the ears too.
Buy petrol, cleaner, greener and cheaper.
