I've just taken delivery of my C350e Estate and am loving it so far.

However, I really really want to have my phone mounted on the dash somewhere so that I can continue to use Waze as it's much better than the built-in Sat Nav.

I've looked at Brodit Proclips and they only have one that sits down by the passenger foot-well. Ideally, I'd like one that places the phone over one of the central air vents.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a quality/stable phone holder bracket that will do the job? Brodit do have an air-vent mount for the A-class which looks similar - would this fit?

Can't answer in the specific fit as such but for me I've never been a fan of the air vent fit units - even Brodit who make good stuff. Prefer the professional fit which doesn't rattle.
In saying that ( and I understand your desire to use Waze which is excelllent) I prefer not to spoil the interior with a cradle on show these days...

There are quite a number of people who have found that these CD slot holders destroy the CD player over time.

CD players may not get used much, but it being non functional at time of sale could be a expensive hit. Or an inability to update navigation maps as another example.

Not guaranteed it will do any damage, but the risk is there and plenty of people complain about it online.

I bought one and it is awesome BUT the eject button on my W204 is sooooo close to the top of the CD slot the top of the mount kept pressing it when you went over a bump, not ideal

You realise it can fit upside down as well? I had to do it that way ..
