I recently purchase A 1995 mercedes S420 but, I notice that it is very sluggish and needs excessive excellaration somewhat like a catalytic converter symtom any ideas thanks.

First off, I am not a 'techie' - but your symptoms sound very similar to a MAF issue. If you do a search 'MAF', hopefully you will find more info.

It could well be the MAF sometimes the car will run better with it unplugged and this would confirm it
