You may wish to consider purchasing a new power steering pump filter at the same time:

Available from a well known on line auction site as well as other places..

Ben you could do it . The belt would need to be removed and make a note of the pump retaining bolts ,as some are longer than others. A camera is your best friend on these jobs. Its like any other pump
that runs off the serpentine belt .Loosen the belt adjuster so you can take the pressure off the belt . Take a picture of the way the belt runs on the pullys. Then remove both pipes from the pump . One is a return , and one is to the power rack .After bolts removed lift out the pump .But first suck all oil out of the pump with a syringe ,put both pipes in a container to catch any fluid that drains fom pipes or the pump on removal. On refitting , fit a new filter as ablove post ,fill the pump with the right power steering fluid, and not ATF as lots of people say you can use ..I use jack stands to lift the front end up off the floor to turn from left to right .But i have done it with out the jacks .Its up to you how you go about bleeding the system of air. This is for the m103 engine .But should be very much the same .

As you probably know the Estate uses a tandem pump that supplies the SLS system too, the part number should be on a small metal plate on the right side of the pump (probably covered in muck)... or if you put your VIN in here: https://www.ilcats.ru/mercedes/?function=defaultFunction&language=en you'll be able to get the right part number if Rob doesn't have one.
