R129 keys

Just a forlorn enquiry as to whether there is any simplish solution to lost keys for a 1996 r129
Is there anybody about who can make new ones??
Apologies I've read all the old threads and just wondered if there were any updates.

Take your V5 and driving license to a Mercedes and they will supply you.

Rmk wanted the car for two weeks, which I may have to do.any key to start the car would be fine. I don't care about the electronic one, but mercedes do not supply these keys any longer AFAIK

If it's this key (single button IR only, no transponder chip):

then I believe they are available from the dealer.

Cars using this key can also be opened and started with a basic metal key (I know this because that's what my 129 uses).

That's the one, but I've been told it's not available from the dealer. I'd pay strong money for a set if anyone could help

Asked the dealer.
Provided VIN and they checked and confirmed availability.
There are some keys have a transponder for an immobiliser and these I believe are not available however my key does not have a transponder. The transponder lock has a collar around it containing an aerial.
