back firing 129

HI televison, could you do the old trick of drilling a hole , say 2mm in the lower side of the cap to give it air! it used to work back in the old days when everything had caps and points etc it takes some skill, I did it to my 2 year old 240 jaguar in 1969 came out of the Ritz at blackpool ( yes they had a Ritz!once) and remember having to clean inside the cap to get the ruddy thing started with my posh bird and half the hotel looking on! never again, so back in surrey and out with the drill! never happened again! but lost the bird! still kept the car drove it to the south of france to cheer my self up! no bother! just a thought!
