Hi
I have a 2001 R170 SLK200 Kompressor, Jumped in it the other day to find a large spring on the floor and a rod hanging down from the clutch pedal. No idea what it is. Clutch pedal seems to work ok. Can any one shed any light? Also thinking of getting a workshop manual for it if you can recommend where to get one from? That would be great.

Dont worry about it, its only a assister sping to return the pedal, if you want to replace it, the whole pedal frame needs renewing!

Thanks for the advice chaps.
Your link was very useful Television. the items found on the floor where 65 (spring) and 68 (what ever that is). Like I said clutch feels ok so I think I'll just leave it.
