Rear bulbs keep blowing

Rear lights keep blowing and light bulb holder is melting anyone fixed this and how could it be a bad earth connection can anyone help please

Check the (? brown) earth wire from the unit to the bodywork, there's numerous reports of the wire being too thin for the current it has to carry.

You will have to replace the bulb holder and the wires that have melted, parts cost is around £35

It is a common problem on the W204 due to a poor earth, mine went in Jan, here is the thread on it
