Just bought an 04 cdi220 estate AvantGarde. Very pleased overall. One thing though, the rearview and drivers mirrors stay dimmed all the time. As the car has privacy glass, it's a bit tricky to see out the back in daylight! Not mentioned in the manual, any ideas?

Hi Neil and thats a first, you can take the mirror to pieces and disconnect one of the wires

Hi Malcolm, thanks for that and the welcome. If all else fails I'll give it a go. Would quite like them to function properly though...

Where did you buy it from? If a dealer give it back to them and its their problem then.

I think that the mirror stays dimmed as it thinks that the ambient light is low, and not due to a fault

I have privacy glass all round and the rear glass is a sheet of 20%, whereas the sides are 35%.

My mirror rarely dims and still functions as it did before the tint was carried out. It dims when someone has main beam on behind me.

Not sure if this helps you but as mine works the same before and after, perhaps there might be another issue?

Cheers
